Emo Makeup Completing the Emo Look

Emo is usually associated with emotional rock music. To be emo, you have to understand what it really means. And maybe you already read all the how to's to became totally emo. You tested yourself and you found out that you enjoy sensitive, in some sense whiny music that is thoroughly emo. So you have an emo music taste, check. You have emo opinions, check. You perfected the emo hairstyle and emo wardrobe, check and check. Why not top it off with a totally emo face. While it may ostracize you from your non-emo friends, just think that you are doing this not because you just want to pose as an emo but because this is what you are. Here are some simple steps in doing emo makeup.

Emo style make up for boys and girls

You will need: • Moisturizer • Foundation
• Eye shadow
• Eye liner (liquid or pencil) • Mascara
• Chap stick or light lipstick tones
• Loose powder (shade one tone lighter than your actual skin tone)

Here are the instructions on how to apply:

1. Note that you need to have this look for the entire day. For the make up to stick, apply moisturizer on your face and neck. Make sure you apply it thoroughly as we do not want to have a patchy looking face. Use moisturizers that have sun block in them so as to further boost the pale face.

2. Emo make up highly rests on the fact that you look pale. However, using foundation a tone lighter that your actual color will look unutterably silly especially in pictures so your best bet is to use same color foundation on your face but we will slightly lighten it with loose powder later. Apply the foundation on your face and blend it to your neck down. If your top slightly shows some part of the chest area, better use foundation to cover that area as well.

3. Some say that it is best to place the eye liner before the shadow but that somehow looks messy so it is advisable to dab on some shadow first. If you are a guy, you can skip this step entirely or stick to black or grey. If you are a girl, you can use other colors, from black, grey, pink, red, purple, green, whatever you fancy. Do not overdo it. Best to dab the eye shadow until the inner lid only.

4. Remove excess shadow on the base of the lids by brushing it with a blush on applicator or a Q-tip. If you are a beginner, use a soft black eye liner to line the upper lid and the lower, making sure you dab it from the inner part to the outer. Also, stick close to the lash line when doing this. If you are a bit more experienced in putting make upon, you can use the liquid liner.

5. Apply the loose powder to sort of seal the makeup together. Sort of like the glue for everything.

6. Apply two coats of black mascara, making sure not to clump the lashes together.

7. Finish off with an application of pale lipstick or if you are a guy, you can do with just lip balm.

Voila! You now have the dark, angst filled emo makeup. Make sure you bring some of these cosmetics in your bag as you may have to do touch ups at the middle of the day. Just a rule of thumb, never, ever over do it.

Do Your Prom Make Up Like A Pro

So someone has already asked you out for prom, and you are just so excited, it shows. You have already bought the most perfect dress at the boutique in town, and you have already a picture of how you would walk inside the hall as the crowd dances and turn to you in amazement when you walk in, as their eyes say, "Wow, is that really you?" and you giggle in excitement. Your shoes are a little high but they're just perfect to complement those shapely legs and that dainty dress that you bought. But hey, you don't have any idea about what to do with your make-up just yet. More so, having it done will be a little expensive, you might as well do it yourself. Prom make up is not that hard to do as long as you know what you want and try hard to achieve it. Prom night is one night that most teens would definitely dream about, and look forward to because it's the perfect time for them to shine and be really exquisite-looking. It is the perfect excuse to make yourself up and surprise everyone about how pretty you really are.

Seriously, your prom make up can be done in a breeze, so don't sigh in frustration. Here are some tips and guide steps that will help you carry on creating that perfect make up for prom night with flying colors. First off are the tips in choosing and applying make up, which you can use for the guide steps later.

-KNOW WHICH LOOK YOU WANT. If you feel like doing a subtle look with pink and peaches, you may. If you feel like doing your eyes a smudged smokey-eyed look, you may also do this. The main tip is you have to imagine how you really want to look like on prom night. And if you are having a hard time imagining it, check on celebrity make-ups that you may like to copy. This should help you decide which make up colors to wear. -GET YOUR MAKE-UP TOOLS READY. If you don't already have a make-up collection, ask your Mom for hers. I am sure she would be willing to let you use her make up for prom night. You will need a good eyeshadow palette, eyeliners, mascara, blush-on, lipsticks or lip colors, eye shadow applicators and a good foundation base. Have them ready before your dressing table hours before prom time, so you wouldn't be stressed out looking for the items themselves just before you get yourself done. That can be unnerving.

-CHECK YOURSELF FOR MAKE-UP ALLERGIES. If you are allergic to make-up, you might as well look for alternatives before applying it to you. You might just end up not going at all if it gets to worst. Prom make up need not to ruin your night.

-PRACTICE YOUR MAKE-UP DAYS BEFORE THE PROM. Experimenting on shades, and make up styles will help you decide for the single perfect look that will best complement your dress and your personality. As they say practice makes perfect, and this is no lesser than true. You might even be able to hone your make-up skills like a pro on prom night.
